We wanted to create something to assist and help people with Parkinson's disease. My stepfather has Parkinson's disease and tremors from the military as he was in Desert Storm and his group got gassed and as time went on the tremors got worse.
We have two different sizes of holes for the utensils — one for bigger and one for smaller utensils. We have tested our product with two people with Parkinson's and for both people, it has made little to no shake or none at all. We tested it with a toothbrush and razor because symptoms of Parkinson's are worst during the mornings. The grip is a 3D-printed tool, everything about the product is 3D-printed besides the weight in the back of the grip. The designing software we used was tinker CAD and we used Bambu Lab 3D printers with the Bambu Lab slicing software. The filament we use for the grips is TPU. The weight in the back is encased in food-safe epoxy.
