Our EAST students at Cedarville High School are working with Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge to create an immersive audio experience for visitors. After meeting with the refuge’s education director, we were tasked with developing audio recordings of the animals’ rescue stories, each accessible through QR codes placed throughout the sanctuary.
We are collaborating with the Arkansas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired to enhance accessibility for individuals with visual impairments. As part of this initiative, the school is utilizing a specialized printer to create tactile QR codes. These QR codes will provide an inclusive experience by enabling blind and visually impaired visitors to access audio stories about the rescued animals at the refuge.
Additionally, we are partnering with EAST at Premier High School, which is contributing Spanish-language audio stories of the rescued animals. This effort ensures that Spanish-speaking visitors can fully engage with and appreciate the stories of these animals.
Through these collaborations, we aim to make educational resources more accessible and engaging for all individuals, regardless of their visual abilities or language preferences.
