Everyone thinks teachers get the summer off. While we at the EAST Initiative know better, we aim to augment facilitators’ summertime professional development with a little fun during our Tech Camp and Summer Seminar. Hailed by previous participants as “the best PD available, bar none,” Seminar sessions offer practical and usable tips, tools, skills and advice you can take back to your classroom to encourage success in the school year ahead. And Seminar as a whole includes activities to interact with colleagues and, yes, even relax a bit while school’s out. This year, we are Rockin' the Capital by returning Summer Seminar to Little Rock, Arkansas. Bring the family, and join us!

Registration Deadline: Wednesday, June 7, 2017An invoice for the registration fee(s) will be emailed to you after registration.  

Payment Deadline: Wednesday, July 19, 2017.

In order to maintain compliance, all EAST facilitators are required to attend and receive EAST Initiative summer professional development. A facilitator who is unable to attend Summer Seminar must have their building principal submit an official email or letter to EAST Events. This email or letter must be on school letterhead, provide the reason for the absence, and confirm that the facilitator will attend Summer Remix to be held after the school year begins at the EAST Initiative office in Little Rock, Arkansas (date to be determined). Letters must be received before the registration deadline Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

Facilitators who register for Summer Seminar and later find out they are unable to attend will need to drop their registration and provide the same letter as detailed above. If a facilitator drops their registration AFTER the drop deadline, they will still be required to pay their full registration fee(s). See below for more detail.

Registration Terms & Conditions / Drop Policy

By registering for the EAST Summer Seminar (the 'Seminar'), you are confirming that you intend to participate at the levels for which you have registered at these events. In turn, the EAST Initiative incurs certain non-refundable costs and expenses on your behalf. For this reason, any registered participant who drops registration(s) after Wednesday, July 12, 2017, or does not attend without dropping, will be required to pay their full registration fee(s).

Family & Friends at Summer Seminar

The EAST Initiative invites family members and friends to the Summer Seminar evening activities! However, please be aware that seating in all general sessions and breakout sessions, as well as participation in break service, is strictly limited to registered EAST facilitators. 


Lunch will be provided for registered Summer Seminar participants July 26-27. Family members and friends are welcome to join you for lunch and can pay the $20 per person, per meal charge on site.
