A Freshman EAST student at Yosemite High School has created a free mobile application that gives Android users – and soon others – a new way to get essential school information quickly and easily. Ahwahnee resident Garrett White, 14, designed the new application for YHS students, staff and parents.
BHP gives EAST at Greenbrier High School $5K

EAST at Greenbrier High School recently received a $5,000 grant from BHP Billiton Petroleum for a student-led project to help students improve their real-world skills and problem solving through technology.
2013-2014 Y.E.S. for Arkansas Business Competition Details Now Available

Y.E.S. for Arkansas and Y.E.S. 2.0 are statewide business plan competitions where students grades 5-12 showcase their creativity, intuition and innovation. The competitions are designed to encourage Arkansas students to act upon their ideas and talents in order to produce tomorrow’s businesses.

At the 2013 Seminar, EAST began what we hope will be a special and ongoing tradition. We had the honor of recognizing milestones of service. Certificates and service pins were presented to facilitators and Core teachers who have served 5, 10 or 15 years in an EAST classroom.
EAST Students Develop QR Code Guided Tour for Rogers Historic District

Next time you visit historic downtown Rogers, look for stickers with QR codes on some of the building entries. EAST students from Benton County School of the Arts High School developed the QR guided tour as a class project. Currently, 15 buildings are included in the tour.
RSU Holds First ART Academy Science and Technology Camp

Fifteen students from lower-income school districts engaged with science and technology this past June as they participate in Rogers State University's first ART Academy, a week-long residential camp. RSU collaborated with EAST at Northeast Technology Center in Oklahoma to produce the camp's technology-focused curriculum.
EAST Students Address Awareness of Teen Issues at Dardanelle High School

EAST students from Dardanelle High School wanted to bring awareness of teen issues by reaching out to the student body through various methods last spring. The projects were designed around concepts developed by the Teen Leadership Coalition, sponsored by the River Valley Prevention Coalition.
EAST at McGehee High School Aid Photographer to Preserve Photos for Future

EAST students from McGehee High School and Kem Haddock's Photography I class continue to archive Billie Seamans' photos and negatives dating back to WWII and preserve them for the future. This project began when students discovered Seamans had hundreds of photographs telling the history and stories of his experience in Delta life.
