EAST students receive funding for projects through BHP Billiton

Two EAST programs at schools in the area have received grants from BHP Billiton Petroleum for projects the programs’ students presented to the organization. Rose Bud and Searcy High School EAST programs each received a $5,000 grant from the Australian mining and petroleum company.

EAST at Greenbrier High School recently received a $5,000 grant from BHP Billiton Petroleum for a student-led project to help students improve their real-world skills and problem solving through technology.

The EAST Initiative is pleased to announce the recipients of the Arkansas Department of Education’s EAST grant and the Arkansas STEM Works grant for EAST Core programs. These grants are the result of a year-long application and vetting process.
Dozier Named Finalist in Awards Hosted by Arkansas Business

The CEO/President of the EAST Initiative, Matt Dozier, was named a finalist in the Non-profit CEO of the Year category by Arkansas Business. Winners will be announced at an awards banquet on the evening of February 26.
