Eureka Springs EAST Lab Selected By JFMF to Partner with Japanese School

The Eureka Springs High School, specifically its EAST Lab, has been selected to participate in the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Master Teacher Program (MTP), an action research program exploring the ways in which electronic communications, particularly Internet-based activities, can enhance and expand the impact of teacher exchanges.
Centerpoint EAST receives $20,000 Grant

Centerpoint High School EAST Lab instructors Buddy Maxey and Nic Mounts announced recently that the CHS EAST Lab was awarded a $20,000 grant from the Olds Foundation in Amity. The money will be used to update the lab's aging computers and to buy new software for the lab.

Today's THV and the Arkansas Department of Economic Development presented a one-hour prime time television special at 9pm on Tuesday, December 5th. This special focused on the high technology and knowledge-based jobs Arkansas needs to improve and expand for future success.
Clarksville High School Receives $1,000 Grant

Clarksville High School was one of 15 Arkansas schools selected to receive a $1,000 Stamp Out Smoking grant. The students will create a video depicting what students think about second hand smoke.
Eureka Springs EAST Facilitator Floro-Powell Meets With Japanese Educators

Eureka Springs High School EAST Program Facilitator Mila Lynne Floro-Powell met with Japanese educators at the “Learning GIS” workshop hosted by the ESRI-Japan office in Tokyo, Japan. Mrs. Floro-Powell was in Tokyo as a participant in the JFMF Teacher Program that hosted distinguished American primary and secondary school educators.

Floro-Powell to be Honored Guest of Japanese Government

Eureka Springs High School EAST Facilitator Mila Powell will depart for Tokyo as a participant in the Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program. Floro-Powell will be among 200 educators visiting Japan in October. They will begin their visit in Tokyo with a practical orientation on Japanese life and culture and meetings with Japanese gove. offic
