On November 14, 2007, Southwood High School's EAST lab was recognized at the Sixteenth Anniversary National Philanthropy Day Luncheon. We received the Outstanding Young Leaders Award, for our work with Chimp Haven, the Shreveport Animal Shelter, Shreveport Green, and our many other volunteer projects within the community.

Recently, the recycling project team of Mary-Katherine Bryant, Sam Burki, Neil Luck, Chase Doss, and Carly Curtsinger were notified from the Washington County Environmental Education Department that they were the recipient of a $200.00 grant that would boost recycling on the Middle School Campus.

The Eureka Springs High School EAST Lab received grants for its Carroll County Inventors Club from the Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam Program for $2,000 and from ASTA (Arkansas State Teachers Association) for $500.
